Photo Composite #1

In my latest project, I combined a dragon picture with a portrait of my principal, Dr. White, and a picture of the principal of Salinas High to create a whimsical clash between fantasy and authority. Using Adobe Photoshop and employing the brush and mask tools, I aimed for a seamless blend of these disparate elements. The final piece turned out surprisingly engaging, capturing a dynamic narrative that reflects the tension between imagination and reality. This experience taught me that achieving precision in digital art requires patience and attention to detail, inspiring me to further explore my creative potential.

Photo Composite #2

In my latest piece, I combined two images: the emotions of sadness and joy from Pixar's Inside Out and a joyful photograph of myself at the beach, where I was cropped out. I aimed to illustrate how these emotions could be holding onto a happy memory of me. Using Adobe Photoshop, I employed the mask and brightening tools to blend the characters with my beach photo, creating a whimsical yet poignant composition that conveys nostalgia and happiness. The final result turned out beautifully, capturing the complexity of emotions. Throughout this process, I learned that merging different images can be challenging, particularly in aligning tones and feelings, but it also deepened my appreciation for the storytelling potential in digital art.

Redline Movie Poster

For my movie poster featuring Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez, I aimed to create an intense, action-filled visual that hints at a deeper romance. Using Adobe Photoshop, I employed gradients, diverse fonts, and background removal techniques to blend elements seamlessly and enhance the overall composition. I’m particularly proud of the text placement and how well I merged different images into a cohesive design. However, I faced challenges with fading techniques that took two days to master, and if I had more time, I would refine the positioning of the characters to eliminate some awkwardness. Overall, this design journey allowed me to effectively capture the thrilling spirit of the film.
Magazine Cover

I chose Jhené Aiko as my role model because of her calming presence, kindness, and the way her music reflects her strength and wisdom, especially as a mother. Her quote, “Cause you are such a star and you know that you are,” resonates with me as a reminder to stay motivated and continue evolving, no matter the obstacles. For the magazine cover, I used Adobe Photoshop to create a minimalist design with neutral colors that match the soothing vibe of her music. I wanted the cover to reflect her serene and grounded energy, hoping to inspire viewers to listen to her music and find motivation in her message of resilience and self-growth.
